Boring and ugly landing pages

It's no secret I have absolutely zero design skills, and I've come to terms with that.

Fortunately, it's not a requirement in order to build an email based business, because I've sold hundreds of copies of my own products with generic-looking landing pages and Canva graphics.

In fact, one of my best landing pages was literally black text on a white background and the only "graphic" was a picture Martha took of me in our old apartment:

  • 2 lines for the headline
  • 2 sentences for the call to action
  • Subscribe form

Oh and a short 5th line for the privacy policy below the form...

But my point is this:

I never let my lack of design skills hold me back from putting up a landing page to grow my readership.

I shipped one fast when I started my first biz in 2010.

I shipped one fast when I started this biz.

And I shipped one fast with every niche I've been in.

Thousands of readers across the niches I've been in all from boring and ugly landing pages that took me barely any time to create.

No, you don't have to create an unsightly page on purpose...

And modern landing page tools like the new ones Kit just released make it easier than ever to create something that looks good...

But you don't have to waste hours tweaking your design for the 42nd time before you start building your email list and making sales from it.

A better example of a 'mediocre-design-at-best' landing page is the one I have for my ebook, especially if you see it on a desktop.

Speaking of said ebook, it's designed to both share everything you need to know about building an email-based biz, and get you up and running ASAP via the checklist at the end.

So today, you can use it as an example of not needing a design degree to make sales and pick up a copy to get the full email biz system at the same time.
